Rust and Crackle Star Ornament

Dear Friends

I am sharing a Rust and Crackle star using DecoArt supplies. I have used

I actually altered a glass star ornament I had made in my previous post which looked like this .............
Rust and Crackle Star Ornament

I added Sand texture paste using a palette knife around the textures and let it dry and then using various fluid acrylics I got the rust effect. Andy Skinner has a fantastic series of You tube videos demonstrating the Rust Technique which can be seen here

Simon Says : 'Star Light, Star Bright'

Hello Friends

Today I am sharing my last post as the Spotlight Designer for the Simon Says Monday Challenge. The theme this week is Simon says : 'Star Light, Star Bright'

It's been an honor to be the Spotlight Designer this month and I want to thank Simon Says Stamp and Lols for this amazing opportunity !!  huge thanks to the most supportive SSS design team for leaving heart-warming comments and love on my blog, I truly treasure those wonderful words of support. If you want to see my earlier posts for the Simon  says Monday Challenge Designer Spotlight, you can see herehere and here

The theme for this week is Star Light, Star Bright and I created a mixed media Glass star ornament.

I started with this beautiful glass star ornament from my stash .....

Gave a coat of heavy Gesso and after drying gave a coat of crackle paste....

I made the clay embellishments using a Prima mold and Paper Clay

Arranged and molded the clay embellishments while wet on the glass star with white glue and allowed to dry overnight........

I have taken a face mold and using sculpture medium and cotton cloth created a head cover to give the molded face a different personality

I have sprayed the ornament with various Mica Sprays to highlight the cracks and then added Silver, Gold and Copper wax to highlight........

I hope you liked seeing the details of my project, do follow my blog if you like my work , do not forget to participate in the Simon Says Monday Challenge. This week the challenge is Star Light, Star Bright
as always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a $50 voucher to use in their shop.

Art-Zines and watercolors

Hello Friends
am sharing some Art-Zine I made using Twinkling H2O's by ColourArte and some stamps and Washi Tape. I made these for gifting my friends using Twinkling H2O’s . These are 7cm x 11cm and 7cm x 10 cm in size

(The word zine is short for magazine or fanzine, and refers to "self-publications, motivated by a desire for self-expression, not for profit", according to the Barnard Zine Library. The Oxford English Dictionary defines zine exclusively as a shortened form of fanzine.)
ColourArte Supplies :
Other Supplies:
Water color paper, stamps , washi Tape , archival inks
Procedure:
I used a 23 x 30 cm sheet of water colour paper and prepared the Twinkling H2O’s by spritzing with water and allowed to sit for 7-10 minutes
In the meanwhile cut and scored the water colour sheet in eight sections……..
Fold and crease your Zine and mark the page numbers  with a pencil so that it is easy to see the orientation of the pages once you start coloring and decorating…….
Zine 1……start adding colors………..

let the background colors dry and then add stenciling with contrasting colors using a sponge and Twinks ……….
Zine 1…The cover page…..Added washi tape ( the girl and the chevron strip) and sentiment ( stamped on tissue paper with archival ink and adhered with decoupage glue) ……..
