A Mixed Media Heart Tag

 Hi Friends

I am sharing a tag I made for Unruly paperarts current challenge: Heartfelt

Used Kraft cardstock as base, a bit of gesso and the background colored randomly with Faber Castell water color pencils and misted to create the background.

Some stamping with Black archival ink and texture stamps. The hearts are die cut using scalloped hearts and textured with gesso and acrylic paints in red, orange, white and  pink, edged with white acrylic color and used Rock candy crackle paint on the edges of the tag and on the hearts.Have applied an aging glaze on the crackled surfaces using a mix of antique gold+payne grey + gel medium.

the sentiment is computer generated and matted on black cardstock, a bit of washi and punched border is added........a closer look at the glossy crackled hearts ........

Quilled Heart Card

Hi Friends

quilled something after a long time........ for Indian quilling challenge-anything-goes-with-heart

I have used Kraft card base by DCWV and a pretty paper which is distressed and torn . Given my current fixation with Mixed media had to add lot of texture with a Faber-castell stencil and homemade texture paste. The quilled heart is on top of net from fruit packaging. The sentiment is stamped on a heart hand cut and textured with acrylic colors and home made glaze. The tiny flowers are made using carnation creations die from spellbinders.

All the silver swirls and tiny hearts are the negative die-cuts I had saved out of Victorian Romance Flourish die by Cheery Lynn cut out of a thin tin metal sheet,I have used Glossy accents to attach the metal bits to the card....I love the touch of silver with Pink and red......a closer look.........

I do hope you like it..especially as I am not a 'cute card person'....actually to be specific am not a card person at all and it is a struggle for me .....and it seems that almost all my blog buddies create beautiful cards effortlessly !!

Altered Notebook Set

Hi Friends

sharing an altered note book set made using simple supplies........

Started with these simple notebooks..........

stencilling using sequin waste and sakura modeling paste, the small white dots are made using the transparent tray packaging out of a biscuit pack................

...................flowers cut from TM Tattered flowers die, black cardstock and I painted the red cardstock I had with Indian red acrylic color to match and highlighted with gold acrylic.

stamping with bubble wrap and Indian Red acrylic color by camlin and gold acrylic later......also you can see a handmade dangler leaf in matching colors using some beads in white, gold and red.....and splatters in gold.

This is another set made using a heart Punchanella and acrylic colors, have used red, blue and green glass paints as a glaze and lastly rubbed a teeny tiny bit of gold acrylic on top.........

I love what a bit of paint can do...loving the awesome texture and colors ...........

I was inspired by the February challenge at Paperartsy. The challenge announcement post has so many awesome ways to use paint. I was inspired by the paint splatters and use of stencils in the challenge post itself .
Hope you like it !!

Debris journal

Debris journal
Debris journal

Hi Friends

A quick post to share the debris journal made by recycling a big sturdy card board box in which I received my DCWV blog hop prize pack.......the pics are self-explanatory........Hope you will like it

The journal is constructed recycling the big cardboard box cut into 7"x7" and 6"x6" pieces. With two writers in the house, we frequently receive packages from our publishers wrapped in thick brown wrapping paper which was cut to size and recycled to attach the cardboard panels...........

Debris journal

Add adhesive and attach the brown paper carefully to the panels to ensure that the two panels open flat and all the panels align evenly.......

Debris journal

Here are both the journals, one 7"x7" and the other 6"x6", the smaller one has a simple design on the cover page using a stencil and homemade texture paste.

Debris journal

attempted a leaf cut on the cover of the journal and added the removed pieces on the back cover for some texture .......a bit of gesso and vintage photo distress ink and a MDF sentiment.........
