Pulsating Colors.......

Hi Friends

Sharing a painting using the Gel Press and amazing ColourArte Silks and Vivid Ultra Metallic paints

I start by cutting cardstock in 6″x6″ size and selecting some stencils and silks to start printing using the Gel Press,I will show you how to layer paint layers with different stencils to create a unique print.

Added Fuzzy Peach, Autumn leaf and Playful Peony Silks on the Gelli Press and covered the Gelli press using a roller …

Placed the stencil and removed some paint using a scrap paper….

Made the frame using air dry clay and Prima IOD molds....

Created the frame with the molded clay and thick Chip board

Gave a coat of gesso to the frame and trimmed the Gelli print to size and added the bird cage with green rhinestones.........

covered the frame with a coat of Black Gesso and dry brushed with Vivid Ultra Metallics Pure silver and DecoArt Metallic lustre in Green and turquoise.....

I love the rich colors and the ornate frame, reminds me of the Vibrant Royal Indian paintings. The frame sure resembles the ornate wooden frames of the Royal Era. I do hope you like this.

Guest Designer Post for A Vintage Journey

Hi Friends

I am so thrilled to be a Guest Designer at A Vintage Journey today.

For this month's challenge, the theme is " Create within a Frame" and this is what I came up with......I've created a canvas titled "Transcend the frame "

Not exactly inside a frame.....but it celebrates the flow of vibrant colors exploding out of the tiny frame in glorious abandon !! This fluid movement of sparkling colors transcending the boundaries of the tiny frame is so joyful and liberating....and that is what all of us want to experience through our Art ..........isn't it !!!

For my project I started with a 8"x10" canvas and started with adding some color with DecoArt Media Misters in Shimmer Turquoise, Shimmer Violet, Shimmer Yellow , Shimmer white and Primary Cyan. then I added some texture with the Memory Box -Radio waves stencil and DecoArt Crackle Paste.  added some more texture paste with a triangle stencil and crackle paste.

Created the Angel wings by adding the Vivid Ultra Metallics in True Silver, Ginger Peach and Pink Azalea in a silicon mold directly and letting dry overnight. After drying this created the most awesome shiny, delicate and soft pair of colorful wings......you have to see the Vivid Metallics to believe the super gorgeous shiny true metallic effect they have !!

I have added the Vivid metallic colors directly from the bottle and added circles to add a halo kind of effect.........dropped color inside the frame and allowed the three colors to mix and drip naturally........dropped some silver micro beads in the wet paint........

Hope you like this canvas and if you want to know more about me and some more wonderful inspiration from other Guest Creatives, visit The Vintage Journey blog here

There is still time to join in this month for Julia's fabulous challenge, 'Create inside a Frame'. Happy creating !!

Sympathy Cards

Hi friends

Just sharing two sympathy cards I made for two dear friends who suffered loss of loved ones recently.

I created these simple layered cards in neutral colors to convey my deepest condolences, to share sympathy and love in their difficult times.. These silent kind of cards are my way to pay a dignified farewell to those departed and to me.....the wildflowers convey the resilience of life …even after death!!

These cards have a ready embossed kraft card base by DCWV. The burlap panel is cut from another DCWV ready card base, The die-cuts are from Tim Holtz wildflowers die set cut from white card stock. Sentiment is from a fiskers stamp set stamped with Versamark ink and  embossed with WOW opaque superfine white embossing powder on a vellum strip.

Hope you find the colors soothing and that they convey solace and peace ...........
