Textures and Metallics

Textures and Metallics

Hi Friends
I painted an old blank canvas pouch today made for PaperArtsy  2017 Topic 13: Metallics and  A Vintage Journey-altered-art. I was inspired by the foiling technique shown on this post on the PaperArtsy blog by Wanda Hentges. Although I didn't have foil but I wanted to replicate that effect so used stencils and modeling paste and die-cuts........

The other side..............

I have used decoupage tissue in the background, stenciling and sprays and then added some die-cuts.....

the textures are highlighted with metallic waxes

Mini Art-Art on everyday use stuff

Hi Friends

Here is an altered mobile cover for my mobile phone. This used to be an ordinary cheap plastic case which is made into a Mini Art Canvas. I love that I can carry a one-of -a-kind of phone case for something which is so much a part of my daily life. Isn't it nice to carry your Art with you where ever one goes :)

lots of texture and dimension here, there was another one I did earlier, you can see it here.

Do you want to buy personalized mobile cases for yourself or for gifting your loved ones then please send me a message :)

'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle' project

Hi Friends
Just in case you were wondering what happened to the left over portion of the Liquor box upcycled in this post, here's it in all ethnic glory...............

I don't think there's much to explain, wrapped jute twine around using glue, some dry leaves from a dry plant arrangement at home, wooden buttons, Fevicol MR and handmade Jute twine flowers (see tute here). I made my loom with a single piece of thick cardboard and used pins stuck into sides. I have used a very thin jute twine almost like a thickish thread for the flowers which was salvaged from a packing of household crockery items.  This is for a 'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle' project for my younger son's school exhibition.

Hope you like it.....
upcycled material: liquor packing box, jute twine, Dry flower arrangement sticks recycled.
