Decoupage and glass colors |
I have used Glass colors and decoupage on the bottle. The peacock design is on both sides of the bottle. I have used water based glass colors by Hobby ideas in blue and green on the bottle and a teeny- tiny bit of glitter around the decoupaged image. Used two coats of varnish to seal the colors and the image. The gorgeous papers are from Mesmerising India collection by Divya Thallap available with Craftslane. The bottle is a recycled liquor bottle and the box a coffee mug pack. The box is also decoupaged using same collection and I have distressed the edges by using metallic acrylic colors in metallic blue/green shades.

Awesome. Love the color combos done. Can u tell me how to prepare home made texture paste
ReplyDeleteThank you Jay, here is the homemade texture paste recipe: I use ceramic clay powder mixed with Fevicol MR( any white PVA glue)+ Water in a 1:1:1 ratio. When using as a texture paste with stencils, add white acrylic color too. You can adjust the quantities depending on what you want to use it for. For making embellishments or clay items, you can add more powder to have a dough consistency. For stamping you can have a liquidy texture and add the colour of your choice. The clay mixture works super economic and is good to be used with stamps, stencils or moulds. It keeps well in a tight container in the fridge, air dries quickly and is light-weight. You can do a lot with this , add colors, embed beads, lace, sequins in this and it adheres very well. One word of caution, wash your stamps immediately and well after stamping with the mix. You can see a simple card I made using this and a wooden block printing stamp here http://kalasirjana.blogspot.in/2013/06/neon-card-and-homemade-gesso-tutorial.html

You don't need any primer when using glass colors on bottle, and the box is a recycled cardboard box, just used gesso to hide the packaging design and then texture paste and acrylic colors, hope this helps :)
