She was ready for the journey ahead.........

Hi friends, sharing another layout and Image transfer with all of you. This is on a thick handmade water color paper, size 8"x10". This has a lot of layers, first is modeling paste and stamping with wood block stamps, then a layer of acrylics and inks, crackle medium followed by another layer of acrylic paints and then stenciling with the crafters workshop fancy feathers stencil, Gelatoes in gold and blood orange were rubbed to define the texture in some places. So after all these layers, it looked like this.........................

I have again used the Image transfer technique by Andy Skinner to transfer the Frida Kahlo image to this layout. All the useful links to this technique have been given in my earlier blog post here. The image is a free download from Andy Skinner's site here. Here's the image after I cropped, resized and fussy cut it ................

Of course one has to keep it face down and mark the area lightly and then some painting with acrylics and splashing some acrylic retarder later........

Image transfer, stamping using the Tim Holtz visual artistry stamps, some tissue decoupage, embellishments and some additional texture using some more fancy feather stencil with texture paste on water color paper and fussy cutting that to use as accents with paints and glitter later...........

I have stamped the sentiment with the wooden alphabet stamps with archival ink on decoupage napkin and attached the top layer with gel medium.....

some close ups.............here you can see the crackle effect and the tissue decoupage and some lace flowers....some ink splatters to finish off.......

I am enjoying working on these ....hope you like these attempts....somehow I feel a strong affinity with this image and in a way the sentiment has a personal significance for me ............. Thanks again to Andy Skinner and Betty Franks Krause for all the inspiration and step by step videos !! In fact Betty has used this sentiment in one of her layouts and much as I tried I could not find a better one so used the sentiment as it is !!
