Hello Friends
Today I am sharing my third post as the Spotlight Designer for the Simon Says Monday Challenge. The theme this week is Simon says : Tear It Up
I will be posting special Spotlight Designer posts every Monday this month for the Simon says Monday Challenge, if you want to see my earlier posts you can see here and here
The theme for this week is Tear It Up and I created an Inspirational plaque for my elder son's desk. Well the theme this week to me is about breaking away and tearing off the set norms of society, doing the things which speak to you, not just fit in but think and attempt at being true to yourself !!
I selected a very gentle color of pink for this as the feelings I wanted this to convey were of love, tenderness, support ,calmness, hope and optimism....and I selected Spun Sugar distress Ink.
1. I started with a mixed media card stock and stamped Hero Arts Blooming Meadows stamp and Butterflies using the Tim Holtz Visual Artistry stamp.
2. I distressed the edges with scissors and sponged with Spun sugar Distress Ink.
3. I have used paper from the DCWV 'Letters from the Home' stack .
4. all paper strips and background mat paper is from the DCWV stack and has been torn using a steel ruler.
5.to create some texture and layered effect I have inked the edges of paper strips and used foam tape , some vintage stamps from the same stack are used in layers......
6. I cut out a tag shape out of a soft pink with a script design and stamped and heat embossed the sentiment using black embossing powder.
7. The flower bunch is fussy cut from the same stack and inked lightly on the edges , then it is lightly embossed from the back using a ball tool to create a dimensional effect .
you can see the layers and dimension in the picture below....finished with some splatters with black acrylic paint......
I hope you liked seeing the details of my project, do follow my blog if you like my work , do not forget to participate in the Simon Says Monday Challenge. This week the challenge is Tear It Up ,
as always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a $50 voucher to use in their shop.
