Mini Seascape

Hi Friends

Sharing a small seascape with you today, I do love how this has turned out.....

I have used a big Jar lid as my substrate .....just goes to show anything can be your canvas :)

After two coats of Gesso and texture using grainy paste and cheese cloth, I created my seascape with some seashells, found objects and clay embellishments...... there are various layers of gesso, cheese cloth, grainy paste, Acrylic inks , dry brushing and alcohol inks here.....

using various color sprays and dry brushing with white Gesso .......

My final layers were Alcohol Splash from Itsy Bitsy  , spray with Alcohol to move the colors so that the contrast from white dry brushed layers is more as the darker color settles in the deep areas.

Have sealed the back with thick cardboard from the back, this can be used as a big fridge magnet or fix a hook and this can beautify any part of your home....do hope you like it .....

Steampunk Altered Bottles Tutorial

Hello Friends, I am on the Itsy Bitsy blog today to share a mixed media creation . I created a set of Steampunk Altered bottles with lots of Itsy Bitsy Mixed Media supplies.
I am sharing the tutorial here too ........
I used Grainy texture paste and Stone texture paste , some random lace and twine to create background texture on the glass bottles..........

Then used the stencil from the store and crackle paste to add some more texture ....

I wanted to use the steampunk bulb chipboard set as the focal point on the bottles , used color splash in Lemon Zing, Gold Rush and Mocha to create an ombre light effect on heavy card by spraying the paper with water first and then with the color splash, allow to dry and then traced the bulbs on the colored paper and fixed behind the chipboard bulbs............

after all the texture , give a coat of Black Gesso to the bottles and allowed to dry....

some layering with chipboard, gears , micro and macro craft pellets .........

another coat of black gesso..........

some more texture with Embossing Paste Aquatini and heat embossing.........

Now was the turn to color, I used Chalk Paints in Terracotta, Mango Crush, Teal Tango, Chocolate Truffle and misty fog using the dry brush technique, keep layering the paints from dark to light in a random fashion........

Finished with adding the focal point with Heavy Gel Medium, some metal embellishments and chain was added from my stash.........

the back....

some detail of the textures......

Steampunk Mixed Media

Steampunk Mixed Media

Hi Friends
Recently I attended a Facebook demo class by Antonis Tzanidakis. He is an incredible mixed media artist. last year he was in India doing workshops and I was lucky to have attended his Delhi workshop. Now a days due to the Covid 19 situation , it is difficult to travel and also to get any kits and he is conducting workshops on You Tube and private Facebook groups . This project is titled Mr 'T' and I used mostly his techniques and some improvisation at my end.......... enjoy the pics, some in process pics and some detail shots ..........

The right hand bottom composition was changed as I thought it was too big and the clocks etc were replaced with a steampunk heart mounted on a broken compass piece..........

Fabric Decou-page and Mixed Media with DecoArt

Hi friends

during these trying times it is our art and our connection with like minded friends that is keeping us sane. I hope all of you are following the guidelines and keeping safe . I wish good health for all of you , stay home , stay safe :)

I am sharing a fabric decou-page canvas bag with you all using a napkin and Americana Fabric decoupage glue-sealer and top coat , stencils from DecoArt and Fluid and Neon acrylics from DecoArt. The other side of the bag has an Image transfer using the American Decou-page Photo transfer medium .....

I have upcycled a canvas bag measuring 13" x 16" which was a gift from a seminar and had the seminar theme and logo etc printed in the center. The bag was gesso-ed to make the print disappear :) The Decoupage napkin with the frida Kahlo print was Decoupaged with fabric Decoupage medium from DecoArt, another flower tissue was used to create a composition around the Frida Image. then a lot of fluid acrylics, sprays and stencils were used, some stamping with archival inks....the sentiment from Visible image was stamped directly on to the bag with black archival ink........

The back side has an Image transfer ..........

I do hope you like this, I would be too happy and proud to flaunt my artsy bag with the image of one of my favorite artist at any crafty outings and meets after the lock-down is over :)
