Decoupage Box

Sharing an MDF Decoupaged Box using beautiful decoupage papers from Hobby Ideas. All the supplies are available at the online as well as physical stores of Hobby ideas. The decoupage papers are such superior quality and just blend in with the painted surface and become a part of the surface after one applies decoupage glue.You can have a look at all the wonderful designs here. These come in a set of two coordinated designs and are translucent. The paper is enough to make at least three such boxes. 

I painted the box with a coat of white gesso and then painted the box inside out with Fevicryl Pearl colors in Turquoise blue and Pearl white. Cut the paper to size and using decoupage glue to the surface... 

Used Fevicryl 3 D Outliner in Pearl Metallic Gold  and the Art Is Stencil by Crafters Workshop to stencil script design on the lid as well on the sides.....

stamping with texture stamps and Archival black Ink..........embellish using Mdf letters and birds...the feet and edges are distressed with adding the gold metallic and wiping with a wet rag............Finished with a coat of varnish to seal all the layers.........

Live...Dream ...Canvas

Sharing another Canvas using some awesome products from Hobby Ideas.........they have a wonderful range of fine arts and Hobby/craft products available in the Hobby Ideas stores and online too........I used the 12x12 Canvas Board and the fine arts acrylic colors and set of Art Brushes from Art-Chef Canvas-Board-Artist-12-X-12 .

I have used the Prima Gardenia stencil and black heavy body Fine Arts Acrylic to stencil the girl. 

This is my first attempt to color faces and I am anxious for your feedback and suggestions.........the facial tones and colors have been a mix of yellow Lemon & Ochre_+ Scarlet lake + Burnt Sienna + Titanium white.........these are amateur experiments..do bear with me :).....

The sentiment is stenciled with White Modeling paste and then with Black acrylic paint.

A quick school project....stencils and spray paint !!

Hi friends

My son had to decorate a 8x10 wall tile for his school's 50th anniversary......and we had just half an hour to do it....here's a quick and easy project......

My son was happy sanding the tile to create some rough texture so that the paints have a better chance to adhere. He then painted it all over with the black acrylic paint. we were so short of time that we decided to go with simply stenciling a design...so out with some inexpensive stencils and a spray paint in gold........this part was done by me for obvious reasons. I used a craftslane flourish stencil in the opposite corners and the itsy bitsy party stencil on the left hand bottom corner , I messed up on the right top corner so just wiped all the paint and stamped with the negative of the party stencil which had a lot of paint on it ............love the gold on white with all that embossing kinda effect...talk of happy accidents !! The 3D outliner by Fevicryl in copper is used to write Anniversary wishes and some dimension on the cake. The spray paint dries super quick.....a coat of spray varnish and packed and ready for school !! Hope this is useful and gives some new ideas to the busy moms and kids !!
